            8^th December, 2009 was a special day for the children of Special Unit of Shree Sarasswathi Vidhyaah Mandheer School, Mettupalayam.  World Disability Day was celebrated here with the Chairmanship of Dr. Manimekalai Mohan.  Mrs. Maheswari, the Headmistress, welcomed the gathering.  The excellent cultural programme was put up by the specially challenged children and it made the audience to give them a standing ovation.

            Mrs. G. Thilakavathy I.P.S., Additional Director General of Police, Economic Offences Wing, was the Chief Guest who boosted the morale of the children by citing examples from mythology.  She advised the parents to encourage their wards to achieve greatness.  The Chief Guest also applauded the selfless dedications extended by the management to provide the required facilities for the physically challenged children.  The children brought on the stage various aspects of life style by their flawless performance.  Mr. S. Mohan Doss, Trustee & Secretary graced the function by extending his wholehearted support.
