The Chief Guest in her extempore speech appreciated and applauded the flawless efforts taken by the management to provide enough opportunity to the Vidhyans to show case their talents. She upheld the notion that everyone should learn Tamil in depth to understand the purpose of life. Tamil Literature is a treasure of supreme culture which guides everyone to face the challenge successfully. She expressed her concern over the observation made by the UNESCO that Tamil language would lose its charm and position in future, if the existing condition happened to continue. She, therefore, advised that all should learn Tamil Literature to seek appropriate guidance to overcome the hurdles in life. She also said, there is a saying in Tamil; “God gave us this world and leave it as it is”, and having ignored this piece of advice now the Earth is facing “Climate Change”. Students should make use of the Library which would enable them to gain knowledge beyond their prescribed texts, and develop self confidence. Value education could be found in abundance only in Tamil Literature and it forms the base for leading a meaningful life, she added. Dr. Manimekalai Mohan in her special address emphasized the fact that students at SSVM would surely become the best citizens of
India.
The highlight of the Cultural Programme was the different types of Folk dances presented by the Vidhyans. The audiences were overjoyed. Mrs. Radhika, HOD, Department of Tamil proposed vote of thanks. |
