The 16th Annual Sports Day was celebrated on 30 July, 2016. Dr. K. Radhakrishnan, I.P.S., Director General of Police, Civil Supplies CID, Tamil Nadu was the Chief Guest. Mrs. A. Suguna Devi, Senior Principal welcomed the gathering. The Chief Guest accepted the guard of honour from the saluting dais. Our National Flag, Sports Flag and School Flag were unfurled by the Chief Guest and the other dignitaries. The Managing Trustee and the Trustee felicitated the Chief Guest. Mrs. A. Malini presented the Annual Report. The Chief Guest then declared the Sports Meet Open. The heats of Inter House Athletics were conducted. The Triassic House bagged the overall championship trophy. The Chief Guest then distributed the awards and certificates to the winners.
Then the entire ground turned into a riot of colours with children who performed Athletic events, warming up drill, Double Pole drill, Hip-Hop drill, Concept dance and Mime. The Chief Guest in his speech said that apart from education extraordinary importance should be given to sports. “Sound Mind in Sound Body is the basic saying to be cherished,” he said. “All should practice any one of their favourite games throughout their lives to excel in all walks of life,” he added.
Mrs. I. Shantha Kumari, Senior Secondary Principal proposed a vote of thanks follow by National Anthem.
