Protecting Pupils: POCSO Awareness & Personal Safety Programme at SSVM™
SSVM™, Mettupalayam conducted a POCSO Act orientation for Grade 6 and 11 boys at the BMK Auditorium on 5 December 2024. Led by Dr. S. Nithya Meenakshi, PGT (Biology), the session aimed to equip students with the knowledge to protect themselves from sexual abuse.
The program addressed topics like good vs. bad touch, the POCSO Act, and legal rights. The interactive format encouraged open dialogue, debunked misconceptions and provided practical safety tips. Information about emergency support, including the Child Helpline (1098), was also provided to the students.
This initiative highlights SSVM’s commitment to safety, inclusivity, and empowering boys to build a respectful community.
